Evloev Aims for First UFC Finish in Title Bid

Movsar Evloev is preparing for the most significant fight of his career, challenging Alexander Volkanovski for the UFC featherweight championship this Saturday in Abu Dhabi. As an undefeated fighter with a perfect 10-0 record in the UFC since 2019, Evloev has steadily earned his title shot. He acknowledges that his fighting style may have contributed to a longer path to this opportunity, but he is confident in his ability to finish fights.

Evloev aims to secure his first-ever knockout or submission victory within the UFC during this title bout. He has previously secured wins against notable opponents like Aljamain Sterling and Arnold Allen. Evloev also discussed his perspective on fighter retention, emphasizing that while finishes are exciting, showcasing engaging fights and the beauty of wrestling also resonates with fans and contributes to a fighter's longevity in the promotion.

Volkanovski has questioned Evloev's wrestling's effectiveness against him, suggesting Evloev will need to engage in striking exchanges. However, Evloev remains focused on his proven strategies, believing they will lead him to victory. He feels a strong sense of responsibility to represent his republic and country by bringing home the title, prioritizing this over personal ego.
