Everton Eye Man City Star Rico Lewis for £30m Deal

Everton is reportedly stepping up their pursuit of Manchester City defender Rico Lewis, who has emerged as a serious transfer option. Manager David Moyes is said to be personally impressed by the 21-year-old's mobility, technical ability, and positional flexibility.

Lewis's capacity to play at right-back, defensive midfield, and left-back makes him an ideal fit for Everton's multiple needs. His potential arrival could allow Jake O'Brien to return to his preferred centre-back role, improving squad balance. The departure of Seamus Coleman has amplified the urgency for a new right-back.

Manchester City is under no obligation to sell Lewis, whose contract extends until 2030. Reports suggest that a fee around £30 million might secure his signature. A permanent transfer is likely, as Premier League loan rules would prevent Everton from acquiring multiple players on loan from the same club.

Lewis possesses the quality to compete for an immediate starting position, making him an attractive, albeit expensive, prospect. His age, versatility, and development at Manchester City contribute to his premium price tag.
