30 May
Summary
- Colorado Rockies top prospect Ethan Holliday will miss the season after left foot surgery.
- Holliday, a highly-touted draft pick, had a stress fracture in his left foot.
- The 19-year-old is the son of MLB legend Matt Holliday and brother of Jackson Holliday.

Colorado Rockies top prospect Ethan Holliday's season has concluded prematurely due to left foot surgery. The procedure will sideline the young player for the remainder of the current season, as confirmed by a league source.
Holliday was initially placed on the injured list for Low-A Fresno due to a stress fracture. The 19-year-old shortstop, considered a top talent, had signed with the Rockies for a substantial $9 million bonus, the largest for a high school draftee.
Despite a challenging professional debut last season, Holliday had shown improvement this year, hitting .262 with nine home runs. He is the son of seven-time All-Star Matt Holliday and the brother of Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday.
Holliday, projected by scouts to potentially move to third base, was ranked as the No. 38 prospect in baseball earlier this week.
