England's Aggressive Batting Style Primed for Aussie Pitches

As England prepares to take on Australia in the highly anticipated Ashes series, their assistant coach Marcus Trescothick has expressed confidence in the team's ability to excel on the fast and bouncy Australian pitches. Trescothick believes the aggressive "Bazball" style of play introduced by head coach Brendon McCullum will put the home bowlers under immense pressure.

The England batters are relishing the prospect of facing the lively Australian tracks, which Trescothick says will suit their high-tempo approach. "Playing on bouncy pitches, where the ball comes onto the bat nicely, is something we always talk about trying to get back at home. It suits our style of play, which we're happy with," he told reporters in Perth, where the team is currently training.

Trescothick also backed star batter Joe Root to finally break his century drought in Australia. The top-ranked Test batsman has yet to score a ton Down Under, but the coach believes Root's game has "gone to the next level" under the new leadership of McCullum and Ben Stokes. "You'd be very surprised if he doesn't carry on in that same sort of vein," Trescothick said.
