Young England footballers need costumes for global tournament

A squad of young footballers from the West Midlands is set to represent England in the Gothia Cup, recognized as the world's largest youth tournament. The team requires assistance in sourcing specific outfits for the opening ceremony, consisting of white raincoats adorned with a red St George's cross and matching white umbrellas. This crucial tournament, held annually in Sweden, features approximately 1,900 teams from 75 nations. The Vision Football Club, which has previously achieved third place in the Gothia Cup in 2025, is carrying England's flag among 179 participating English teams.

The players are endeavoring to create a memorable appearance during the opening ceremony on July 12, aiming for a unified and striking presentation. Parents have contributed, and fundraising efforts have been made, but the team currently has only £23 remaining. They are actively seeking sponsorship from local businesses to support the 16 attending players. This opportunity is viewed as a chance for the children to gain invaluable experience and forge lasting memories, with one player expressing her aspiration to one day play for England in the World Cup.
