Emmitt Smith: Only Mahomes Is Elite QB

Emmitt Smith, a legendary NFL running back, has ignited a debate by asserting that only Patrick Mahomes qualifies as an elite quarterback in the current league. Smith's criteria for elite status emphasize a quarterback's ability to carry their team through extreme circumstances and elevate the performance of their teammates.

During a recent discussion, Smith elaborated on his views, suggesting that quarterbacks such as Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow, while talented, have not consistently demonstrated the necessary qualities to be considered elite. He pointed to Josh Allen's struggles with turnovers as a critical factor in the Buffalo Bills' recent playoff elimination.

Smith contrasted the current crop of quarterbacks with past legends he deems elite, including Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana, Tom Brady, Troy Aikman, and Dan Marino. These historical figures, in his opinion, consistently embodied the traits of elite quarterback play throughout their careers.
