Eli Drinkwitz's Coaches Poll Picks: Mizzou Snubbed
21 Jan
Summary
- Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz did not rank his own team in the final poll.
- Only one coach, Florida's Jon Sumrall, ranked Mizzou in the top 25.
- Drinkwitz included all five teams that defeated Missouri in his top 20.

Eli Drinkwitz, the head coach for the Missouri football team, participated in the recent US LBM Coaches Poll, casting his vote for the final national rankings. His ballot, released on January 20, 2026, notably excluded his own team, the Missouri Tigers, from the top 25. This decision aligns with the majority of the 62 participating coaches who also did not include their own teams in their final selections.
Out of all the voting coaches, only Jon Sumrall, currently the head coach at Florida and formerly at Tulane, included Missouri in his final ballot. Sumrall ranked Mizzou at No. 22, contributing all three of the team's voting points in the final poll. Drinkwitz's selections also reflected the outcomes of the 2025 season for his team, which concluded with an 8-5 record. He made sure to rank the five teams that had defeated Missouri during that season within his top 20 overall rankings.
