Egypt coach Hassan quashes Salah discord rumors

Egypt's national football team coach, Hossam Hassan, has firmly rejected speculation about any internal discord involving star forward Mohamed Salah. Speaking to reporters, Hassan stated that every one of the 26 players in the squad is equally important and receives professional treatment, with no favorites among them.

He lauded Salah's discipline and leadership qualities, describing him as a role model who positively influences his teammates. Hassan clarified that all team decisions, including player substitutions, are made solely for the benefit of the national team. He affirmed that Salah fully respects these decisions and remains committed to the squad's objectives.

Hassan expressed his confidence in Salah's ongoing positive contributions to the team, particularly ahead of their upcoming match against New Zealand. Salah was a key figure in Egypt's qualification campaign, scoring nine goals, and recently assisted a goal in their opening 1-1 draw against Belgium. He was substituted in the 76th minute of that match.

New Zealand also drew their opening match, a 2-2 tie with Iran, setting the stage for a closely contested group. The encounter between Egypt and New Zealand is scheduled to take place at BC Place.
