Eagles' Dickerson Nears Return, Practice Window Opened
18 Oct
Summary
- Landon Dickerson's return to practice is now officially possible.
- He is not activated for the game against the Panthers.
- Dickerson has been on IR since Week 1 against the Commanders.
Landon Dickerson, a veteran guard for the Philadelphia Eagles, is nearing a return to the field. The team has officially activated the window allowing him to resume practicing, dispelling any notions of him being a retirement candidate. Dickerson has been sidelined since Week 1, when the Eagles faced the Washington Commanders.
Despite being back on the practice field this week, Dickerson has not been activated for the upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers. The Eagles also placed quarterback Jalen Hurts on injured reserve due to a blood clot, which will cause him to miss his first game of the season. Jaydon Blue, Keyshawn James-Newby, and Cole Wisniewski have been elevated from the practice squad to help fill roster voids.
Dickerson's absence has led to several changes on the offensive line, including Cam Jurgens shifting positions and later being traded to the Baltimore Ravens. Willie Lampkin is currently filling Dickerson's guard position. While his immediate role upon return is unclear, there is a possibility he could be ready for the game against the Dallas Cowboys next week.
