Eagles' Effort Under Scrutiny: Coach Sirianni Responds

The Philadelphia Eagles are grappling with a significant five-game losing streak, prompting questions about player effort. Coach Nick Sirianni addressed these concerns, asserting that effort was not the reason for their recent defeat.

Sirianni detailed his coaching staff's rigorous grading system, which evaluates every play based on assignment, alignment, and effort. This assessment occurs during both practices and games to uphold team standards. He clarified that upon reviewing game film, he did not identify effort as the primary issue contributing to the loss.

Addressing the perception of declining effort, Sirianni acknowledged that losing streaks often lead to intensified scrutiny and a search for answers. However, he stressed the importance of maintaining an objective grading process, focusing on the week's preparation rather than solely on game outcomes.

The Eagles are set to face the 1-4-1 Commanders next, seeking to reverse their downward trajectory.
