Duke Football's Championship Dream Alive!

Duke football is actively pursuing a spot in the upcoming ACC championship game, with their destiny now resting on favorable results from other contests. Following a decisive 49-32 victory against Wake Forest on November 29, the Blue Devils possess a 7-5 overall record and a 6-2 standing within the ACC conference. This win significantly bolsters their chances for postseason play.

The team's aspirations for the championship game are tied to two specific scenarios: a victory for Cal over SMU, or a win for Virginia Tech against Virginia. Duke has already benefited from an earlier result where Pitt lost to Miami. Currently, Duke stands as one of four two-loss teams in the conference, intensifying the competition for the championship.

Coach Manny Diaz expressed a sense of calm anticipation, stating it's 'neat' to be in this position on Thanksgiving Saturday. Players, however, conveyed a mix of enjoyment of their recent win and a keen awareness of the championship game possibility. The ACC title game is slated for December 6 in Charlotte, and a potential appearance would mark Duke's first ACC championship since 1989.
