Duke Eyes Belmont Transfer Drew Scharnowski

Duke's men's basketball program is actively seeking talent from the transfer portal, with Drew Scharnowski of Belmont reportedly among their targets. Scharnowski, a 6-foot-9 forward, has generated significant interest, with early Crystal Ball predictions favoring the Blue Devils.

Scharnowski's performance this past season saw a substantial increase from his redshirt freshman year. As a starter, he nearly doubled his previous averages, earning him First Team and Defensive Team honors in the Missouri Valley Conference. His defensive prowess includes averaging 1.3 blocks and 0.8 steals per game.

Scouting reports highlight Scharnowski's versatility, describing him as one of the country's best defensive and passing big men with strong court vision. His athleticism and efficiency at the rim are also noted strengths. Intriguingly, Belmont's new head coach, Evan Bradds, previously served as an assistant coach under Jon Scheyer at Duke.
