Dolphins Seek Preseason Momentum in Final Tuneup at Home
23 Aug
Summary
- Dolphins return home for final preseason game
- Starters to get playing time, Jaguars to rest theirs
- Coach McDaniel wants team to get "last jitterbugs out"
As the 2025 NFL preseason winds down, the Miami Dolphins are set to host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium. This will be the Dolphins' first home game since December 2024, and head coach Mike McDaniel wants his starters to get a feel for the game-day routine.
"It's the first time this team has been through that routine," McDaniel said on Thursday. "Much of the game and much of each and every regular season game, the success or failure is determined by the process of going from practice to a game. ... I want to see guys play together and get the last jitterbugs out before we get real in a couple weeks."
However, the Jaguars will be taking a different approach, as coach Liam Coen plans to sit his starting unit for the preseason finale. This will give the Dolphins' starters a chance to get some valuable playing time and work out any remaining kinks before the regular season begins.
The Dolphins are looking to build momentum heading into the 2025 campaign, and this final preseason game will be an important step in that process. Fans in Miami will be eager to see their team in action at home for the first time in nearly a year.
