The Dolphins' new deal for Brooks carries an average annual value of $17.1 million. This figure ranks him fifth among off-ball linebackers across the entire NFL, reflecting his high value.
Brooks, 28, is coming off a career-defining season where he earned his first All-Pro selection. He led the league in both solo tackles (99) and total tackles (183), also recording 13 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks.
Originally a first-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2020, Brooks spent his first four professional seasons there. He set a franchise record for tackles in a single season with 184 during his second year and led the NFL with 109 solo tackles. He departed Seattle in free agency in March 2024.
Brooks has achieved over 100 combined tackles in each of his last five seasons. With 839 career tackles, he is one of only five NFL players since 2000 to reach the 800-tackle milestone within their first six seasons.
