Dodgers Swap Pitchers: Knack In, Halvorsen Out

The Los Angeles Dodgers have recalled right-handed pitcher Landon Knack from Triple-A, making a roster move prior to their series finale against the Kansas City Royals. Knack replaces fellow right-hander Seth Halvorsen, who has been optioned back to the minor league system. Halvorsen, recently acquired from the Colorado Rockies, made his Dodgers debut on Tuesday. He delivered a shutdown performance in the 10th inning, helping secure a win for his team. His fastball velocity was notably higher than his previous stint with the Rockies, averaging 100.7 mph and touching 101.3 mph. Halvorsen had thrown 6.1 scoreless innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City since his trade. Despite his promising debut, he returns to the minors while Knack gets another opportunity at the major league level. Knack has faced challenges in limited MLB action this season, allowing five runs over five innings in two appearances. He previously began the season on the injured list with an oblique injury. Over his career with the Dodgers, Knack has a 4.33 ERA with 115 strikeouts in 116.1 innings.
