Dodgers Bench Hernández for Game 2 vs. Brewers
12 Oct
Summary
- Dodgers lost Game 1 of the NLCS to the Brewers.
- Kiké Hernández is out for Game 2 of the NLCS.
- Tommy Edman will replace Hernández in the lineup.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to even the National League Championship Series (NLCS) against the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 2. The series began with a 0-1 deficit for the Dodgers following a tightly contested 2-1 pitching duel.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has opted to bench Kiké Hernández for Game 2, a notable decision given Hernández's strong postseason performance. Tommy Edman will start at second base in place of Hernández, batting ninth in the lineup. Edman has yet to record a hit in five postseason games played so far.
Other adjustments to the Dodgers' lineup include Teoscar Hernández moving up to third in the batting order, while Will Smith has been shifted down to fifth. Yoshinobu Yamamoto is scheduled to start as pitcher for the Dodgers, facing off against the Brewers' starter Logan Henderson.
