District 2 Doubles: Semifinals Set After Intense Day 1

The District 2 Doubles Championships have reached the semifinal stage following a day of intense play. In Class 3A, the top-seeded team from Abington Heights, Amishi Amit and Sammy Rosenstein, will compete against West Scranton's Chiara Pugliese and Marissa Shafer. Abington Heights' second seeded team, Kate Arp and Margot Rubner, is set to face North Pocono's Anna Clementoni and Cameron Forgione.
In Class 2A, top seeds Lily Lengel and Adithi Velaga from Scranton Prep are slated to play Katie Zhang and Kate Minella of Wyoming Seminary. The other semifinal will feature Montrose's Anna Evans and Erin Tillotson against Wyoming Seminary's Lizzie Weaver and CeCe Pons. Both Wyoming Seminary and Abington Heights have multiple teams advancing.
All semifinal matches are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Kirby Park. The finals will immediately follow the conclusion of the semifinals, determining the champions of the District 2 Doubles Championships.
