Dube's AHL Tryout Amidst Acquittal Fallout

Dillon Dube, the last unsigned player from Canada's 2018 world junior team acquitted in a high-profile sexual assault case, has agreed to an AHL professional tryout with the St. Louis Blues. General manager Doug Armstrong announced the signing on Wednesday, bringing Dube closer to a return to North American hockey.

Dube, alongside forwards Michael McLeod and Alex Formenton, defenseman Cal Foote, and goaltender Carter Hart, was found not guilty by a judge in London, Ontario. Since the trial concluded last summer, Hart is the only one to have played in the NHL, while Foote has signed with the AHL's Chicago Wolves.

Last season, Dube played 42 games for Dinamo Minsk in the KHL. He will report to the Springfield Thunderbirds, the Blues' AHL affiliate, once his work visa is processed. In other team news, the Blues also signed Robby Fabbri and placed forward Jordan Kyrou on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury.
