Dillian Whyte has disclosed the extent of a physical compromise that affected his performance in his August 2025 bout against Moses Itauma. Whyte shared with Sky Sports that he entered the fight with a fractured foot, an injury sustained during a road run that worsened considerably during a subsequent sparring session.
Further complicating matters, Whyte revealed he refractured the same foot while warming up in the dressing room just before heading out for the fight. Despite a doctor's recommendation against competing, Whyte, determined not to withdraw, proceeded with the match.
He admitted that he believed he could still overcome Itauma, aiming to replicate Filip Hrgovic's strategy of a later-round stoppage. Whyte expressed that disclosing his condition was not to diminish Itauma's victory but to offer context for his performance. He currently has no retirement plans and has expressed interest in a future bout with Johnny Fisher.
