Dialysis Runner Shatters Marathon Record

Cameron Frazer, a 36-year-old from Shrewsbury, has completed the Manchester Marathon, achieving a remarkable time of four hours and 29 minutes. He believes this performance establishes a new unofficial record for individuals undergoing dialysis, surpassing the previous mark of five hours and 15 minutes.

Frazer's participation was part of a collective effort by the Dialysis Dashers running group, which successfully raised over £16,000 for Kidney Care UK. This achievement highlights his determination to showcase that limitations can be overcome through resilience and ambition.

Diagnosed with vasculitis, an autoimmune condition, Frazer spent considerable time in hospital and is currently managing life with dialysis while awaiting a kidney transplant. He expressed his satisfaction with the marathon experience and is exploring the possibility of competing in shorter races like the half-marathon, 10k, and 5k.

Frazer's inspiring run aimed to prove that circumstances do not have to define one's capabilities. The event also served as a significant fundraising initiative for vital kidney health support.
