Browns' Bush Acquitted in Phone Smashing Case
17 Dec
Summary
- Devin Bush found not guilty of assault and harassment charges.
- Judge ruled Bush intended to stop phone interception, not cause harm.
- Bush can now focus on his NFL career with the Browns.

Cleveland Browns linebacker Devin Bush was officially cleared of simple assault and harassment charges on Tuesday, according to court records. The administrative judge overseeing the non-jury trial determined Bush was not guilty following his arrest in May 2025.
Bush's attorney stated that the prosecution's evidence showed the accuser was recording Bush without his consent. When Bush discovered this, he removed and broke the phone, an action the judge deemed permissible as the intent was to stop the interception, not to inflict harm.
With the legal proceedings concluded, the former Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick can now refocus entirely on his performance on the field for the Cleveland Browns, where he has recorded 93 tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions this season.
