Lions' Top 5: Sewell Reigns Supreme, Gibbs Ascends

The Pride of Detroit has concluded its 2026 roster countdown, unveiling the top five players for the Detroit Lions. For the third year running, offensive tackle Penei Sewell secured the unanimous No. 1 position. His dominance in the run game and reliable pass protection solidify his status as the team's most dependable player and a leader.

Amon-Ra St. Brown continues to be a model of consistency, achieving at least 100 catches and 1,100 receiving yards for four consecutive seasons. He ranks highly in franchise history for receiving yards, receptions, and touchdowns, potentially rivaling Calvin Johnson's career achievements.

EDGE Aidan Hutchinson slides to fourth but had a remarkable season, setting career highs in sacks (14.5) and forced fumbles (four) despite a previous leg injury. He also led the NFL in pressures. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs also ascended, showcasing explosive playmaking with over 1,200 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns for the second straight year, notably leading the league in long rushes.

Linebacker Jack Campbell rounds out the top five after an All-Pro breakout season, earning a significant contract extension. He is now considered among the NFL's elite linebackers.
