In preparation for the 2026 Detroit Grand Prix, the City of Detroit has initiated a series of road closures that began prior to the current date, May 24, 2026, and will extend until June 4. The annual auto racing event is scheduled to take place downtown from Friday, May 29, to Sunday, May 31.
Several key downtown thoroughfares are affected. Closures are in place for sections of St. Antoine, Brush, Griswold, East Jefferson service roads, and West Jefferson service roads.
