Derbyshire Falcons achieved their first Vitality Blast victory, convincingly defeating Leicestershire Foxes by 86 runs. The Falcons posted an imposing 230 for five, a total just shy of their T20 record, thanks to significant contributions from Martin Andersson, who scored 57, and Caleb Jewell, who remained unbeaten on 58. Andersson was the standout performer, backing up his strong batting display with a career-best six wickets for 23 runs, setting a new T20 record for Derbyshire bowlers.

The Foxes’ chase began disastrously, losing three wickets within the first 11 balls and sinking to 111 for six. An exhilarating partnership between Ashton Turner, who top-scored with 53, and Ben Cox offered brief hope, but Andersson's exceptional bowling ultimately dismantled Leicestershire's batting order. They were bowled out for 145 in 15.2 overs, marking their third loss of the season.
