Dele Alli Looks to Revive Career in EFL After Disastrous Stint Abroad

As of November 14th, 2025, former Tottenham and England midfielder Dele Alli finds himself without a club, seeking to revive his once-promising career. Alli, who earned 37 caps for the England national team, has endured a tumultuous few years, including a disastrous stint at Everton and a brief, unsuccessful spell in Italy with Serie A side Como.

After struggling both on and off the field during his time at Everton, Alli's contract on Merseyside came to an end in 2024, and he was released by the club. Alli continued to train with Everton until late 2024, when he was approached by Como, who are managed by former Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas. However, Alli's time in Italy was short-lived, as he made just one substitute appearance for the Serie A outfit, which lasted less than 10 minutes after he collected a red card against AC Milan. His deal with Como was terminated in September 2025, and he has been without a club ever since.

Now, ex-Premier League star Clinton Morrison, who was briefly at MK Dons during the same time as Dele, has urged Championship clubs to snap up the free agent and make him the "main man" in their plans. Alli, who is still of the opinion that he can make a decisive contribution somewhere, may find it difficult to drum up interest after gracing just one game since February 2023 and enduring long-running issues on the fitness front.
