Los Angeles Lakers center Deandre Ayton was ejected from Game 4 of the Western Conference quarterfinals series versus the Houston Rockets. The incident took place with 5:41 remaining in the third quarter, resulting in Ayton striking Rockets All-Star center Alperen Şengün in the head with his forearm.
Despite the ejection, Ayton recorded team-highs of 19 points and 10 rebounds in 25 minutes. However, his absence coincided with the Lakers being outscored by 18 points, and their perimeter offense struggled significantly.
