Dawson Odums Takes Helm at Bowie State Football

Dawson Odums has officially accepted the position of head football coach at Bowie State University. The athletic department announced the hire on Monday morning, marking a new chapter for the Bulldogs' football program. Odums expressed his honor and gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing his belief in discipline, character, and leadership as foundational to sustained success and a winning culture.

Odums arrives at Bowie State with a significant coaching background, most recently serving as head coach at Norfolk State. Prior to that, he spent ten years at Southern University, where he achieved considerable success, including a SWAC championship in 2013 and four SWAC West Division titles. Bowie State, a program with a strong Division II history, hopes Odums can replicate his past achievements and guide them back to championship contention following the departure of their previous coach.
