Darnold's Struggles Haunt Seahawks in Narrow Loss to Rams
17 Nov
Summary
- Seahawks QB Sam Darnold has 10 completions, 2 interceptions
- Darnold underthrows open receiver for potential TD
- Seahawks settle for 4 field goals in close 14-12 game

As of November 17th, 2025, the Seattle Seahawks are facing a tough NFC West showdown against the Los Angeles Rams, and their quarterback Sam Darnold is once again under the spotlight for the wrong reasons. Darnold, who has been criticized in the past for his tendency to struggle in big games, is doing little to silence his detractors.
At one point in the game, Darnold had 10 completions and 2 interceptions, and he also underthrew a wide-open receiver in the end zone, missing an easy touchdown opportunity. The Seahawks have moved the ball well, but they have had to settle for 4 field goals in a close 14-12 game late in the third quarter.
To make matters worse for Darnold, he threw a third interception late in the third quarter, giving the Rams good field position. This comes on the heels of Darnold's previous two losses, where he had a key fumble and a game-losing interception in the final two minutes.
The Seahawks still have time to turn things around, but so far, the naysayers who predicted that "Same" Darnold would doom the team are feeling vindicated by his performance at SoFi Stadium.
