Mitchell High School senior Asher Dannenbring earned individual medalist honors at the recent Warrior-Lynx Invite. Dannenbring achieved this distinction by completing both rounds of the two-day tournament with scores under par. His cumulative score of 139, which was 2-under par, secured him a four-stroke lead over the runner-up.
Dannenbring's performance included a 70 on the first day and a 69 on the second. While his second-round score was slightly behind the pace of Colton Clark, Dannenbring was the only golfer to record under-par rounds across both days. The Mitchell Kernels team, however, finished 13th out of 15 schools with a total of 661 strokes.
Sioux Falls Lincoln dominated the team competition, winning with a score of 575 strokes. They finished 19 strokes ahead of second-place Brandon Valley. Mitchell's next event is the Pierre Invite on August 25.
