Smith Injured, Title Fight Canceled!

Dalton Smith, the reigning WBC light-welterweight champion, has been withdrawn from his scheduled title defense against Alberto Puello owing to an injury. Smith sustained the problem during his current training camp, leading to the cancellation of his first defense, which was slated for June 6th in his hometown of Sheffield.

With Smith's bout off, the unification fight between Galal Yafai and Ricardo Sandoval has been promoted to the main event. Yafai, the interim WBC flyweight champion, will face Sandoval, who holds both the WBA and WBC flyweight titles. The undercard will feature Josh Padley defending his European super-featherweight title against Aqib Fiaz, and a bout for the English super-featherweight belt between Ibraheem Sulaimaan and Ibrahim Nadim. Young talents Leo Atang, Adam Maca, and Connor Mitchell are also set to compete.
