Cubs Pitching Staff Suffers Another Blow: Taillon Out
10 Jun
Summary
- Jameson Taillon sidelined by strained left hamstring injury.
- Taillon is expected to miss time until after the All-Star break.
- Cubs face additional pitching challenges with multiple pitchers injured.

The Chicago Cubs will be without starting pitcher Jameson Taillon for an extended period. Taillon sustained a strained left hamstring and has been placed on the 15-day injured list. This places him out of action until at least after the All-Star break.
This recent setback further strains the Cubs' pitching rotation. They are already navigating the absence of several other pitchers, including Matthew Boyd, Cade Horton, and Justin Steele. Manager Craig Counsell noted that the team is looking at opportunities for other players over the next month.
In response to these roster changes, the Cubs recalled pitchers Ethan Roberts and Tyler Ferguson from Triple-A Iowa. Infielder/outfielder Matt Shaw was also reinstated from the 10-day injured list. Pitcher Trent Thornton was placed on the paternity list, and designated hitter Kevin Alcántara was optioned to Iowa.
