The series, which begins on October 19 in Perth, has sparked a travel rush to destinations Down Under, with several package tours attracting many from Kolkata.
Travel agencies are offering a range of packages, including a four-day trip to Perth for the first ODI at a cost of Rs 1 lakh per person. These packages include visits to popular tourist spots around the city, such as Rottnest Island, Swan Valley, and Fremantle. Many travelers are also opting to visit Adelaide and Sydney for the subsequent ODIs and the five T20 matches that follow.
According to travel agents, more than 250 travelers from the region, including around 100 from Kolkata, are expected to make the trip to Australia. While Melbourne and Sydney remain the most popular destinations due to their large Indian communities, the first ODI in Perth has also attracted significant interest as it will mark Kohli and Rohit's comeback.
The most popular package is a 10-night trip, including tickets for two matches, stay, and sightseeing around two cities, costing around Rs 3 lakh per person, including airfare and match tickets. Though most tickets are sold out, a few are still available on a website for the first ODI at Perth, priced between Rs 4,460 and Rs 6,539.
