After a ten-year ambition, Crewe FC has officially completed a significant redevelopment of its sports facilities. The project, costing an estimated £1.4m, includes a new 3G pitch and a refurbished pavilion at the King George V Playing Fields.
Club chair Steve Parker highlighted the importance of this investment, noting the lack of major sports facility upgrades in Crewe for about a decade. The new facilities, which took approximately one year to complete, are now considered among the best artificial grass pitches in the area.
The redevelopment encompasses comprehensive features such as full wheelchair access, disabled changing areas, nursing facilities, gender-neutral changing rooms, coaching spaces, and new catering facilities. Parker expressed his delight, stating it provides a much-needed home for the club, which currently serves around 650 frequent players founded in 1998.
With these upgrades, Crewe FC is looking towards the future, with plans to potentially build padel courts and further expand its offerings.
