Cougars Lay Groundwork for 2027 Recruiting Class
25 Aug
Summary
- WSU extends offers to 9 high school QBs, including 3 four-stars
- Targeting top WR prospects like Damani Warren, Zion White, Trenton Yancy
- Recruiting heavily in Hawaii for LB talent like Toa Satele

In August 2025, Washington State University has already started laying the groundwork for its 2027 recruiting class, with a particular emphasis on the offensive side of the ball. The Cougars have extended offers to 9 high school quarterbacks, 3 of whom are four-star prospects, including Huntington Beach's Brady Edmunds, Fayetteville's Hank Hendrix, and Tacoma's Sione Kaho.
While Edmunds is expected to commit to Ohio State, Hendrix and Kaho remain uncommitted, and would be significant gets for WSU if they were to join the Cougars. The team is also targeting a dozen wide receiver prospects, with four-star talents like Damani Warren, Zion White, and Trenton Yancy at the top of the list. However, it is likely that these elite players will ultimately choose other programs.
The Cougars are also focusing on recruiting in-state, with Braylon Pope and Maurice Williams, the fourth and sixth-rated prospects in Washington, respectively, holding offers from both WSU and the University of Washington. On the defensive side, WSU has reached out to several defensive linemen and linebackers, including four-star prospects Zane Rowe, Elija Harmon, and Kasi Currie, as well as Toa Satele, the top linebacker prospect from Hawaii.
