27 Feb
Summary
- Corinne Suter secured her first downhill win since early 2022.
- Lindsey Vonn leads the discipline standings despite injury.
- Emma Aicher is Vonn's closest competitor, 94 points behind.

Corinne Suter, the former Olympic and world downhill champion, celebrated her first World Cup victory in the discipline since January 2022. The Swiss skier triumphed in Soldeu, holding off Nina Ortlieb of Austria by a narrow 0.11 seconds. Sofia Goggia of Italy finished third, 0.24 seconds behind Suter.
Despite her win, Suter is not considered a contender for the season's downhill globe due to previous injuries and missed races. American standout Lindsey Vonn maintains her lead in the discipline standings with 400 points, earned from two wins and three other podium finishes. Vonn is currently sidelined with a leg injury sustained during the recent Olympic Games.
Emma Aicher of Germany is Vonn's closest rival, sitting 94 points back with three races remaining. Kira Weidle-Winkelmann of Germany and Sofia Goggia are also in contention, trailing Vonn by 144 and 160 points, respectively. Federica Brignone, the defending overall World Cup champion, opted to sit out the race but may compete in upcoming super-G events.
