Cordero Loaned Again: Newcastle Winger Stays in Spain

Antonio Cordero's development path with Newcastle United will continue away from Tyneside, as the promising winger has been loaned back to Cadiz for the 2026-27 season. The Spanish club officially announced the agreement for the 19-year-old's return.

Cordero underwent his medical and has already begun training with his new teammates. He previously spent the first half of the last season with Belgian club KVC Westerlo, but Newcastle recalled him due to limited playing time. He was then loaned to Cadiz in the winter transfer window, where he made a notable impression.

During his time with Cadiz, Cordero featured in 23 matches and scored three goals. He originally arrived at Newcastle last summer from Malaga's academy, having garnered attention from major European clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona. He was also a consistent player for Spain's youth national teams.

Another productive season at Cadiz is expected to provide Cordero with crucial senior minutes. Newcastle will monitor his progress to assess his potential for a future role under Eddie Howe. However, with the recent arrival of Bazoumana Toure, Cordero's immediate first-team prospects at Newcastle appear slim.
