Tonight marks a crucial Copa do Brasil encounter as Ceará hosts Atlético for the second leg of their fifth-round tie. The match is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Brasília time at Arena Castelão, with Matheus Delgado Candançan as the referee. Broadcasts will be available on SporTV and Premiere.
Atlético enters the contest with a significant advantage, having won the first leg 2-1. This means they need only a draw to progress to the next stage. Ceará, conversely, faces an uphill battle. They must secure a victory by at least two goals to advance in regulation. A one-goal win for Ceará would lead to a penalty shootout to determine the qualifier.
The financial incentive is substantial for both clubs, as the advancing team will receive R$3 million in prize money. Ceará is currently in a difficult period, enduring a four-match winless streak in Série B, accumulating only two points. Coach Mozart faces squad challenges with several players sidelined due to injury, including Zanocelo, Richard, Luiz Otávio, Wendel Silva, Ronald, and Lucca.
Atlético, meanwhile, aims to avoid squandering another lead, having previously drawn matches against Juventud and Botafogo after initially being ahead. Manager Eduardo Domínguez has confirmed that Ruan is out due to injury. Victor Hugo, Patrick, and Índio remain unavailable as they recover. Iván Román is set to start at right-back, with Cissé occupying a midfield position.
