Cooper Johns Eyes US Footy Show Hosting Gig
25 Feb
Summary
- Cooper Johns may host a US show combining NFL, college football, and NRL.
- He quit KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show for better-paying opportunities.
- A proposal for a US-style show featuring Cooper Johns will be pitched.

Cooper Johns, a former NRL player and media personality, is reportedly being considered to host a new football show in the United States. This proposed program aims to blend content from the NFL, college football, and the NRL. Johns, 26, departed from KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show in January to pursue roles with higher compensation.
Johns transitioned into media in 2024 after retiring from a rugby league career that included stints with the Melbourne Storm and Manly Sea Eagles, playing 19 first-grade games. He is currently in Las Vegas with his father, Matty Johns, and brother, Jack.
An Australian expatriate, Ray Simmons, plans to pitch the concept of a US-style football show to Fox Sports executives. Simmons believes Johns would be an ideal host for such a program, which could integrate both the NRL and the NFL's global expansion efforts. Other potential hosts mentioned include Jake Duke and Cooper Cronk.
Last February, Johns faced scrutiny in Las Vegas following a prank incident involving Raiders player Hudson Young and an inflatable baseball bat, which occurred during content filming for Sportsbet.
