21 Jul
Summary
- Community Shield game relocated due to concert bookings at Wembley.
- The fixture will now be held at Cardiff's Principality Stadium.
- The match is scheduled for Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 3pm BST.

The traditional curtain-raiser for the Premier League season, the Community Shield, is moving from its iconic home at Wembley Stadium. Arsenal, as Premier League champions, will face FA Cup winners Manchester City in this fixture.
The relocation is due to scheduling conflicts at Wembley, which has been booked for The Weeknd's 'After Hours Til Dawn Tour' from August 14 to 19, 2026. Consequently, the game cannot take place on the weekend of August 15 or 16.
This year's match will be held at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Kick-off is set for Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 3pm BST. This venue previously hosted five consecutive Community Shields between 2001 and 2006.
The match will also mark Enzo Maresca's first official game as head coach of Manchester City, succeeding Pep Guardiola. His counterpart, Mikel Arteta, has prior experience in this fixture, having led Arsenal to victory in 2022 and 2023.
