Colorado's quarterback room is entering the 2026 season with new leadership. Julian Lewis, a highly-touted redshirt freshman and former five-star recruit, has been named the Buffaloes' Week 1 starter against Georgia Tech. Lewis originally committed to USC before flipping to Colorado in November 2024.
Lewis saw limited action in 2025 as a true freshman, appearing in four games and starting two, including a notable performance against West Virginia with 299 passing yards and two touchdowns. He has since been named to the Shawn Alexander Award Watch List for the 2026 season.
Also joining the quarterback depth chart is Isaac Wilson, brother of NFL quarterback Zach Wilson. The former consensus four-star recruit spent two seasons at Utah, where he made seven starts as a true freshman and became the first Utes true freshman quarterback to beat an AP-ranked team. Wilson will serve as Lewis' backup in 2026.
