Buffaloes Kicker Stoyanovich Enters Transfer Portal

Colorado Buffaloes kicker Alexander Stoyanovich is entering the transfer portal, marking his departure from the program after two seasons as a walk-on. Stoyanovich announced his decision on Thursday, with his official entry into the portal scheduled for January 2nd. He conveyed his appreciation to Coach Prime, former offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, and director of player personnel Corey Phillips for the opportunity to play in Boulder.

Stoyanovich's departure was not unexpected, as he did not see game action in the past season. In 2024, he averaged 62.1 yards per kickoff, with three touchbacks on 18 attempts. While key kickers Alejandro Mata and Buck Buchanan are graduating, Stoyanovich, a Michigan native and formerly ranked kicker, will explore other collegiate options.

The Buffaloes will likely turn to the transfer portal to fill their kicking needs. Coach Deion Sanders will need to recruit specialists for both field goals/PATs and kickoffs, as Mata and Buchanan depart. Other walk-ons, Daniel Gerlach and Elliott Arnold, remain on the roster.
