Colorado Buffaloes tight end Zach Atkins expressed excitement about the "Go-Go" offense being implemented by new offensive coordinator Brennan Marion for the 2026 season. This uptempo scheme primarily utilizes two running backs with a quarterback in shotgun formation. Atkins stated that the offense is "every pass-catching tight end's dream" and has been "unbelievable to learn and play in."
In the 2025 season, Colorado's offense struggled, averaging only 328.4 yards and 20.9 points per game, ranking second to last in the Big 12. The team finished with a 3-9 overall record and a 1-8 conference record. Marion previously coached Sacramento State, where his offense averaged 425.6 yards and 33.8 points per game in 2025.
Quarterback Julian Lewis, a highly-rated recruit, is expected to start for the Buffaloes in 2026. Lewis, a redshirt freshman, has four seasons of eligibility remaining after appearing in four games in 2025. The Buffaloes' 2026 season is scheduled to begin on September 3 on the road against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
