Collector's Kayak Capsizes During Water Sports Trial

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema District Collector R. Mahesh Kumar narrowly avoided injury when his kayak capsized while he was piloting it alone in an irrigation canal. This occurred during an inspection and trial run for the forthcoming national-level water sports competitions, scheduled to be held in Pulidindi village.
The incident took place on Friday, January 2nd, just ahead of the three-day event. While the kayak overturned, the Collector, who has prior kayaking training, was unharmed and continued with his official duties, including attending a government program. This event happened during preparations for the second edition of the water sports competitions.
The water sports competitions, featuring dragon boat races and kayaking, are planned from January 11 to 13. They aim to draw tourists to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema District during the Sankranti festival. Approximately 27 teams have registered, and competitions will span a four-kilometer stretch of waterway.
