Coleman Seals Historic No-Hitter in Nine-Inning Gem
12 Jul
Summary
- Carson Coleman was part of the seventh no-hitter in franchise history.
- He previously was involved in a championship no-hitter in 2022.
- Coleman returned to pitching after two surgeries and missed two seasons.

Carson Coleman played a key role in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders' seventh franchise no-hitter on June 5th, a game that saw starting pitcher Brendan Beck's hitless streak extend through seven innings. Coleman entered the game, preserving the no-hit bid through the eighth and into the ninth inning. The historic game concluded with a game-ending 6-4-3 double play after a walk, sealing the accomplishment for his team and pitcher Beck.
This marks Coleman's second involvement in a no-hitter within the New York Yankees organization. Previously, on September 28, 2022, he closed out a championship game for the Double-A Somerset Patriots, who won decisively. That game featured a dominant performance by starting pitcher Randy Vásquez, with Jasson Domínguez leading the offense.
Coleman's path back to the mound has been challenging, marked by Tommy John surgery in 2023 and a subsequent nerve entrapment issue requiring another surgery, causing him to miss all of 2023 and 2024. He was initially drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2019 and later signed by the Yankees in 2020. After a stint with the Texas Rangers via the Rule 5 Draft, he returned to the Yankees organization.
Last season marked his return to pitching after a two-and-a-half-year absence due to injuries. He appeared in 17 games across four levels, posting a 1.59 ERA. This year, Coleman has experienced his first Triple-A opportunity and a normal spring training since 2022, describing the experience as a dream, though his June performance has been inconsistent.
