NBA Star Cole Anthony Joins Melbourne United

Melbourne United has officially signed former NBA guard Cole Anthony for the upcoming 2026-27 NBL season. This signing is considered one of the biggest of the off-season, as Anthony joins the league at the peak of his career. He was the 15th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft after a successful college season. Anthony's father, Greg Anthony, also had a lengthy NBA career.

Across six NBA seasons, Cole Anthony established himself as a dynamic scorer, playing for the Orlando Magic and most recently the Milwaukee Bucks. His strongest individual campaign saw him average 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. The move to Melbourne United represents a new chapter for the former first-round NBA selection, who expressed excitement about competing for a championship.

Head coach Jacob Chance views Anthony as the final piece for a championship-contending roster, praising his scoring, playmaking, and defensive capabilities. Anthony's arrival also reunites him with veteran Joe Ingles, with whom he played during the 2023-24 NBA season.
