Clippers Waive Promising Rookie Ahead of New Season

As the Los Angeles Clippers prepare for the start of the 2025-26 NBA season in just one week, the team has made a roster move, waiving two-way forward Trentyn Flowers. This comes after the Clippers had a stellar season last year, despite missing their superstar forward Kawhi Leonard for the majority of the campaign.

The Clippers were just one win away from advancing to the second round of the playoffs, taking the Denver Nuggets to the brink. Now, with a new season on the horizon, the team is looking to establish itself as one of the best in the league, particularly in the loaded Western Conference.

With the talent on their roster, the Clippers have decided to part ways with Flowers, a 20-year-old undrafted rookie who joined the team on a two-way contract in July. Flowers had a strong showing in the G League last season, averaging 17.7 points on 48% shooting from the field and 39% from three-point range, along with 5.0 rebounds per game.

However, Flowers struggled to find consistent playing time in the NBA, appearing in only 27 games. Now, with the Clippers waiving him, the young forward will look to latch on with a new team as the new season approaches.

The Clippers now have one open two-way spot on their roster, with Kobe Sanders and Jordan Miller holding the other two-way deals. The team has 20 players in camp and does not plan to add any more at this time, as they prepare to make a deep playoff push in the upcoming campaign.
