Clemson QB Change: Reynolds Replaces Vizzina

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has appointed freshman Tait Reynolds as the team's starting quarterback, a move made earlier in the season than seen in over 50 years. Reynolds takes over from Christopher Vizzina, with the switch attributed to production rather than Vizzina's health. Swinney described Reynolds as having an "it" factor, significant moxie, and physical maturity beyond his years.

Reynolds, who also excelled as a two-sport athlete in high school, was compared by Swinney to former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow due to his confidence and clutch ability. North Carolina coach Bill Belichick acknowledged Reynolds' athleticism and strong arm. Clemson's offense currently ranks 117th in yards per play as the team heads into its ACC opener against North Carolina.
