19 Oct
Summary
- Marc Guéhi sees UCL return as development opportunity.
- City leads Premier League with seven wins.
- Team aims for top eight in Champions League group stage.
Marc Guéhi has emphasized that Tuesday's UEFA Champions League home fixture against AEK Athens represents a significant opportunity for City to further develop as a unit. The team is navigating a demanding schedule, with this being their fourth match in nine days and third consecutive home game.
City currently tops the Premier League table with a perfect record of seven wins from seven matches. While acknowledging recent defensive lapses at home, Guéhi expressed confidence in the team's ongoing learning process under new manager Enzo Maresca, with a focus on reviewing performance clips and on-pitch tactics.
In the Champions League, City holds three points from their initial two group stage games, following a victory against FC Porto and a loss to Paris Saint-Germain. They face an AEK Athens side also on three points, and Guéhi anticipates a challenging encounter against experienced opponents, stressing the importance of securing three points to progress towards the Round of 16.
