- Rashee Rice suspended for first 6 games of 2025 NFL season
- Conviction for causing "multi-vehicle chain-reaction collision" in March 2024
- Sentenced to 30 days in jail for felony charges

In a setback for the Kansas City Chiefs, star wide receiver Rashee Rice has been suspended for the first six games of the 2025 NFL season. The suspension comes as a result of Rice's conviction for causing a "multi-vehicle chain-reaction collision" in March 2024.
According to the details, Rice pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony charges of collision involving serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily injury. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail for these offenses.
Rice, a second-round pick by the Chiefs in 2023, had a standout rookie campaign, tallying 938 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 games. However, his sophomore season was marred by a torn ACL that limited him to just four games, where he managed 288 yards and two scores.

Now, the 24-year-old receiver will miss crucial early-season matchups against the Los Angeles Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Detroit Lions. Over his first two NFL seasons, Rice has recorded 103 catches for 1,226 yards and nine touchdowns in 20 games.
The Chiefs will need to find a way to overcome Rice's absence as they look to build on their success and make a deep playoff run in the 2025 campaign.
