Armstrong Fights for Chiefs Roster Spot

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Andrew Armstrong is currently engaged in efforts to secure a place on the team's final roster. He is attending practices at Missouri Western State University, familiarizing himself with the coaching staff and system following recent minicamp activities.

Armstrong highlighted his positive relationship with Wide Receiver Coach Chad O'Shea, appreciating his rigorous and detailed coaching approach. "He is going to be hard on me, but that is the type of coach I love to play for," Armstrong stated, emphasizing the value he places on such guidance.

Having signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs in early January 2026, Armstrong previously had brief stints on the practice squads of the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions after going undrafted in 2025. He attributes his pursuit of a roster spot to consistent hard work and a commitment to being the best player on and off the field.

In his 2024 college season, Armstrong demonstrated his talent by leading his team with 78 receptions for 1,140 receiving yards and one touchdown. His collegiate performance earned him recognition, including being named 1st-team All-SEC by the Associated Press and 2nd-team All-SEC by the Coaches, along with Phil Steele All-American Honorable Mention.
